Hudson Catholic and Head Coach Rob Stern are pleased to announce
that several members of the Class of 2005 will be competing in football
at the collegiate level this fall. In addition to 3rd Team
All-State performer Jonathan Calderon, who has accepted an
athletic scholarship to attend the University of Maine, six additional
Hawks will enter the NCAA ranks. The total of seven college
players from one class is unprecedented in Hudson Catholic's history.
Among those headed to the collegiate ranks are: Kenny Alford (Virginia
State University), Anthony Castagna (Kean University), Ronnie Cutler (Monmouth
University), Giovanni Grassi (Delaware State University), Ryan O'Flaherty (Utica
College), and Azam Twal (William Patterson University).
"We, as a school and a staff, are extremely happy for these young men," said
Stern. "The level of commitment they displayed in working to turn around
the Hudson Catholic program will serve them well at the college level. We
wish them all the best, and look forward to seeing them as an active presence
in our program and alumni community for years to come."

Head Coach Rob Stern has announced the Hawks 2005 Schedule.
Per HCIAA rules, league schedules are created via a two-year "rotation" basis.
Therefore, Hudson Catholic will play the same order of opponents as it
did during 2004. Eight of the Hawks' nine regular season contests
will be played on Saturdays, while four of the nine will be
7:00pm kickoffs.
"Our 2005 schedule presents us with challenges week in and week out," said
Stern. "After
several close losses in '04, we are looking to rebound and show some improvement
with a young team this year."
Hudson Catholic will not have to do much travelling
during the regular season, as seven of the team's nine regular season contests
are to be held at the Hawks' home stadium at Caven Point in Jersey City.
These seven matchups include five traditional home games, as well as two "away" contests.
